Kathryn Kuhn began her career as a private dressmaker in 1911. After her apprenticeship, she started her own custom business, and began working on theatrical productions during the Depression. For almost 4 decades, until 1948, she created designs for numerous shows on Broadway, including several of the Ziegfeld productions, and the Sonja Henie ice shows, before returning to private dressmaking.
